Image Capture

I use Canon cameras, mostly a Digital Rebel XTi as well as a recently purchased 40D. After making the mistake of getting some cheaper lenses, I made the investment and got some good glass, including:

  • Canon 24-105mm f/4L IS
  • Canon 70-200mm f/4L IS
  • Sigma Super Wide Angle 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM
  • Lensbaby 3G
  • Canon 50mm f/1.4 EF
  • Canon EF 1.4x II Extender

Support

  • Bogen / Manfrotto 680B Compact Monopod
  • Really Right Stuff BH-40-LR-II Ball Head
  • Bogen / Manfrotto 190XPROB Tripod Legs
  • Gorillapod SLR-Zoom

Flash

  • Canon 430EX TTL
  • 2 x Vivitar 285HV

Other

I use mostly Sandisk Extreme III Compact Flash memory cards. I use a LowePro SlingShot 300 AW to lug everything around. I have various filters, including UV (protection), Neutral Density, and Circular Polarizing. Most of my filers are from B & W, which always seem to be the best, though a little pricey.

My computer is one I built myself, and is more than powerful enough to handle image manipulation. I use the typical mix of software and plug-ins to get the look I want. I have a Wacom tablet, which I am just getting used to. It provides a level of precision and "feel" that you don't get from a mouse.
